Teaching
In addition to my love for singing, I have a passion for teaching music to people, no matter what age or ability level.
I am bursting with excitement to help each student reach and exceed their musical goals. My students gain musical confidence and self-esteem, and I've had the extraordinary privilege of watching them accomplish various milestones in their musical journeys.
From teaching basic musical fundamentals and ear training in a personal setting to preparing students for upcoming auditions and recitals, I embrace the individuality of each student and the uniqueness of their accomplishments.
I began teaching a couple of years ago, and my life has been changed for the better ever since. I didn’t realize the sense of fulfillment that could come from helping others develop their musical passion and realize their potential. I love seeing my students’ creativity evolve and interests grow over time.

FAQs
Is my child too young for music lessons?
One is never too young to learn musical fundamentals. In fact, learning musical ear training is a much easier thing to do earlier in life than in later childhood or adulthood. I teach these fundamentals at any age.
For those specifically interested in taking piano or violin lessons, the earliest age I would recommend is 5 years old. For voice lessons, I would recommend age 8 and older.

Am I too old for music lessons?
Absolutely not. I meet people every day who think that just because they weren’t involved in music growing up, that they can’t ever do it. That is so NOT true!
I work with people who have taken an interest in music later in life. You may not want to become a professional singer, but you might want confidence to sing out more in your community choir. Or, perhaps, you are realizing that you want to sing for the first time ever. Working with me you will gain the skill and courage to reach your musical goals, whether it's joining your church choir, feeling more confident singing in social settings, or just enjoying singing in the shower with more gusto.
I am constantly inspired by helping people gain the confidence to do things they thought they couldn’t do before. People will surprise themselves, more often than not.

What kind of music lessons do you teach?
I teach voice/singing, beginner piano, and violin lessons. I am a classically trained opera singer with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in vocal performance, and I have extensive performance experience in both musical theater and opera. I enjoy teaching classical, musical theater, jazz, and religious singing genres. In my voice lessons, I also provide audition prep, acting techniques, and assistance with monologue preparation. I have 15 years of classical violin training in Suzuki method, which I apply when teaching my violin students. My basic musicianship classes, depending on your age or level, will incorporate a little bit of everything - singing, piano, guitar, and classroom instruments, in particular.
How much do music lessons cost?
My rate is $25/half hour (30 minutes). I normally schedule students for one lesson per week, unless more time or multiple lessons are requested. I am able to accommodate 45-minute or 1-hour lessons as desired. Many students with upcoming auditions or performances choose to have more than one lesson per week.
